Greetings from the new owners of Gene’s Lock Shop — Bryan and Angie Viehauser!
Bryan and Angie hail from Austin, Minnesota, where they met and married. Bryan had worked in carpentry for 10 years until his brother-in-law asked him to help run his Austin-based locksmith business. With his love of tinkering and problem solving, he was hooked! This led him to take classes and develop the skills to become a safe technician.
Although he enjoyed working with family, Bryan had aspirations to someday open his own locksmith business. Little did he know that his wish would be answered sooner than expected. While vacationing in Spearfish, South Dakota, the Viehausers stopped by the local lock shop to say hello, and the owners, Gene and Yvonne Ficek, mentioned that they were ready to retire. Two years later, the couple relocated to Spearfish and became the proud new owners of Gene’s Lock Shop.
Spearfish quickly felt like home to Bryan and Angie, and they love all of the possibilities that the Black Hills have to offer. Bryan is an avid fisherman, while Angie enjoys hiking and traveling. They are happy to continue the tradition of running a family owned and operated business and are proud members of both the Spearfish and Deadwood Chambers of Commerce.
Stop in and see them today!
